Dark chocolate | Cuban coffee | Star anise Ghouligan? A more obviously scratched-in H addendum? I digress. Notes of scraping burnt whole-wheat toast into porcelain kitchen sink. Midnight snack. A near-distance-distant [spiced rum] fruitcake: apropos. Serious cigar. More treat than trick lol.

Alec Bradley Black Market Filthy Ghooligan is a Halloween spin-off of Alec Bradley's Black Market Filthy Hooligan, which is a St. Patrick's Day cigar. Filthy Ghooligan is a limited edition cigar made in Honduras with a barber pole wrapper composed of Ecuadorian Habano and U.S. Broadleaf tobacco, an Indonesian binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. These cigars were originally released in September 2024, and have been resurrected in September 2025 in one Toro size (6 x 50) priced at $14.49 per cigar. The sample Alec Bradley Black Market Filthy Ghooligan Toro cigar started off with a nice dose of a naturally sweet tobacco flavor. Within about five minutes, an enjoyable cocoa flavor emerged, and along with the sweet tobacco, the overall taste of the cigar was kind of like Cocoa Puffs (butnota Halloween candy bar). The smoke was medium bodied, and stayed in that range throughout the smoking session. The flavors remained pretty much consistent until after I ashed the cigar for the first time at the 30-minute mark. Beyond that point, the taste of the smoke was still naturally sweet, but the cocoa began to fade just a bit. After 45 minutes of smoking time, one minor touch-up was needed to keep the burn perfectly even. Five minutes later, I ashed the cigar for a second time. The flavor of the cigar was still very enjoyable at this point, and remained naturally sweet until the unbitter end. It took me a total of 80 minutes to smoke the Filthy Ghooligan Toro down to just 1½ inches remaining. During that time, the cigar had a great draw, an almost perfectly even burn, and held a long ash. Alec Bradley Black Market Filthy Ghooligan is not only a great cigar for Halloween, but for any time of the year. I was impressed by it's naturally sweet tobacco flavor (no artificial additives), which lasted for the entire duration of the smoking session. Filthy Ghooligan is a superior to excellent cigar worthy of a rating somewhere between 4.25 and 4.5 points on a 5-point scale. Only 1,500 boxes of 24 cigars were produced, sotreatyourself now before they all vanish like a puff of smoke on Halloween.
