As a major aspect of the organization’s new site last year, Alec Bradley released new pictures of the organization’s overhauled MAXX cigar. Recently, the organization said that it would upgrade the look of the line, which was released in 2005. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The new look includes a much bigger vertically-situated band saying” MAXX.” There are five sizes for the line: Culture (6 x 54), Fix (5 x 58), Freak (6 3/8 x 60), Nano (4 x 46) and Super Freak (8 1/2 x 60). MAXX is made by Plasencia in Honduras. It utilizes a Nicaraguan wrapper, Costa Rican binder and Colombia, Honduran, Mexican and Nicaraguan filler. MAXX was introduced at the 2015 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans, LA.

Oils seem to seep from the glistening wrapper of this half corona, which draws and burns evenly. Herbal at first, it takes on an oaky quality with a complex palate of spices that range from white pepper and rock salt to fennel and saffron.
