Today I’m smoking an Alec Bradley Prensado Lost Art in a chunky 6-by-60 Gordo, called the Double T. Lost Art was officially released in 2017 as a follow-up to the company’s original Prensado blend, which earned a 96-point rating and a prestigious ‘#1 Cigar of the Year’ title in Cigar Aficionado back in 2011. I’ve reviewed plenty of Alec Bradley cigars before like the Black Market, Double Broadleaf, and Kintsugi. Prensado Lost Art was blended by brand founder Alan Rubin when he was running the company with his sons, Alec and Bradley, for whom the brand is named.

It’s a bit challenging to write this review without starting about how the cigar finished: strong. While the opening was not mild, the Lost Art showed no signs of getting to the headspinning levels it approached with less than two inches remaining. That final third was not the best part of the cigar, but the other two thirds and the overall progression produced a cigar that was enjoyable. This isn’t your typical Alec Bradley, but I’d gladly pay the price of admission again.

Alec Bradley Prensado Lost Art Robusto

This may just be the sleeper hit of the year for me. I recall the original release of the Prensado (especially the Churchill format) was a great cigar. This rendition carries forth similarities in that it is flavor driven, but the Lost Art version has deeper flavors and slightly increased strength.
