AVO Cigars Expresivo
Engineered for cigar lovers seeking deeper intensity and power from the storied Dominican house, AVO Expresivo is crafted under Davidoff's exacting standards. Clothed in a dark Ecuadorian wrapper over vintage long-fillers, this bold medium-to-full-bodied smoke yields complex layers of bittersweet dark chocolate, rich earth, cracked black pepper, weathered leather, and robust espresso.

The AVO Expresivo Robusto is an impressively solid cigar, the latest in a brand that I think deserves that description. The flavor is lively and inviting, as well as balanced and complex, with some engaging transitions throughout the first two thirds. While I might dial back the first puffs just a touch, I have no qualms with how the cigar performs flavor-wise. Likewise, while I might want a bit more from the final third, it's still a very enjoyable finish. Construction keeps this cigar from achieving what I would consider its full scoring potential, so I won't be surprised to see some comments that it's a bit low, but that's the result of the gauntlet we put cigars through for a review. While it might not be a true smash hit, the AVO brand scores another solid entry, and one that makes for an enjoyable introduction to this next chapter of the its story.
