At the 2018 IPCPR in Las Vegas, La Flor Dominicana offered two exclusive cigars for retailers who attended the trade show. Today we review the "A".

La Flor Dominicana did not launch any new lines at this years IPCPR, but they did launch two line extensions: The Ligero A and Ligero Lancero. The La Flor Dominicana Ligero A is a 9 1/2 x 47 “A” vitola. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Dominican binder and filler. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. The price is $24 and comes in boxes of 10, production is limited and it shipped October.

There’s great color to this pigtailed panetela which delivers a dense, chewy smoke with each puff. It’s sweet and spicy showing red and black pepper notes, leather, molasses and malted chocolate. Strong and flavorful.

La Flor Dominicana cigars are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, where brand founder Litto Gomez blends a popular portfolio of strong small-batch cigars, like the classic Ligero Oscuro blend I’m smoking in a 5.75-by-50 size called the No. 300, or L-300, for today’s review. Litto and his wife, Inez, entered the cigar business during the Cigar Boom of the 1990s, when demand for premium cigars was at its peak. They started off making mild cigars, but today they’re best known for producing cigars of considerable power.
