It has been over 30 years since Litto Gomez founded La Flor Dominicana in 1994. I can honestly say, both Litto and I were young men back in the 20th century and some of you reading this may have been infants or not even born yet. But time does fly by and with that time Read more about Cigar Review: LFD Suave Grand Maduro No. 6 (BP Torpedo) – Rated 95[…]

La Flor Dominicana Suave Maceo

The Cigar Authority · Dec 29, 2015

A look at the lighter Suave from La Flor Dominicana which provides a rich and complex smoking experience.

La Flor Dominicana Suave Grand Maduro No. 6

Cigar Aficionado · Feb 1, 2026

A dark, box-pressed torpedo with an open draw and even burn. Its robust earthy, peppery character is balanced by sweet inflections of anise and herbs. Touches of leather, roasted coffee and nuts also emerge before a spicy finish.

La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Máximo

Halfwheel · Oct 19, 2025 · September 2025

It has been some time since I last smoked the original Suave blend, but I do remember it being an enjoyable, mild cigar. This new version is still mild in terms of strength but packs a ton of rich, incredibly enjoyable flavor. The profile starts mild and creamy before finishing more robust, with a thread of campfire smokiness and some mild black pepper that emerges to tie the sections of the cigar together. Construction was also fantastic, with no issues detracting from the smoking experience. The La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Máximo is simply a fantastic cigar that I look forward to smoking again.

La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Suave in Toro "Maximo" - Cigar Review by Kaplowitz

Kaplowitz · May 8, 2018

"When you think of La Flor Dominicana, you might think of a ligero laden smoke with plenty of power to go around. However, that’s not the case with the LFD Suave. It’s a more mellow option for those of us who want to enjoy all the qualities of the brand, but not the strength." - Cigar Advisor La Flor Dominicana (LFD) Suave [this cigar review is all (mainly) thumbs. Sorry.] THUMBS UP A Connecticut with a decent set of balls (in 1st-half). Sour/Sweet overtones toast nicely. Pepper-spice undertones

La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Maceo

Developing Palates · Jan 5, 2026 · September 2025

The La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Maceo delivered a profile that had complexity in the first third, but never fully broke past its own limitations. The early combination of sweet tobacco, baking spices and toasted wood created a classic start and I was hoping more depth would be revealed. By the end, the Suave Natural Maceo proved itself to be a cigar best appreciated for its simplicity and its early moments of harmony. It may not be a standout in the broader LFD catalog, but there may be value to the consumer in a more subdued blend.
