Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Corona Pequeña
Blind Man's Puff · Oct 9, 2020 · February 2020
Drew Estate brought a new size of their Undercrown Maduro and Shade blends to TPE this year, Corona Pequena. The blends are the same as their larger counterparts. The Shade uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, Sumatra binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Undercrown Corona Pequena comes in 32 count boxes and sell for $176 per box. The cigars measure 4 x 44.

Sitting on the patio today, trying out a Liga Undercrown Shade Connecticut. This cigar boasts tasting notes of honey, lemon, orange peel and spice. Sounds about like the most delicious cigar on the planet but in turn promises some very high expectations. Let's see if it delivers. Buy 5 Pack Pre-lit Pre-lit this thing

Agile Cigar Reviews are cigar assessments where we use a lightweight, shorter format. These will never take the place of our comprehensive reviews. They are only used on blends we have previously assessed. This might be a blend we are re-scoring or giving a score for the first time. It might be a blend we […] Key flavors: Cream, Classic Wood, Berry, Pepper, Cedar.

Again with the Orange Julius. White pepper. Acacia honey in tea. Buttered popcorn. Caramel apple. Zestiest zetzes of the thus-far sampled vitola (Flying Pig, Gran Toro). Sweetly sharp cedar joins heightened pepper on retro-hale; angel food cake sets on palate post that. Excellently performing smooth draw, even line, pack density.

The Undercrown Shade is a cigar that was desperately needed in the DE lineup. With several manufacturers now entering the "amped up" Connecticut wrapper game, DE's offering comes out at just the right moment in the game, instantly becoming the top contenders in its weight class.

A very fat cigar wrapped in a clean cover leaf. It's a bright and creamy smoke, zesty with touches of lemon peel and dried orange. It's also sweet, with a very prominent note of honey on the palate.

Halfwheel · Aug 24, 2015 · Aug. 10, 2015
Connecticut wrapped cigars can be hit or miss for me, but the Undercrown Shade was definitely a hit in my book. Even though it’s a completely different blend from the original Undercrown line, I think a lot of people are going to want to know how they compare. Personally, I think I will find myself reaching for the Shade over the original more often than not. The creamy, sweet profile really hit on all cylinders, and despite a touch of flaky ash and a minor touch up in the final third, the construction was quite impressive as well. I think many people who might not enjoy the Undercrown line or perhaps are looking for a more mild but flavorful alternative, the Undercrown Shade will be a good selection. I am really looking forward to trying the Corona in this blend, but until those ship I can easily recommend trying the Gran Toro out for yourself.

I’m smoking the 5-by-52 Gran Toro in the Liga Undercrown Shade blend from Drew Estate. The fellas at Drew Estate introduced the Liga Undercrown line to satisfy demand for the original Liga Privada No. 9 and T52 blends, which were initially produced in small batches that retailers quickly sold through. Undercrown Shade offers a more approachable taste than the other Liga cigars, which are typically stronger. Let’s find out how it stacks up.Read full review on Holt's Staff Reviews

The Flying Pig vitola has always carried its own following and this one doesn't disappoint. I would have no problem smoking this often and would really love trying it in the morning with some coffee. Go get some.
