Squarely pressed and topped with a triple seam cap. Earth and wood are at the heart of this cigar, accented by tones of leather and black pepper. Wisps of coffee bean and chocolate culminate in a finish of roasted nuts. It draws evenly, though the combustion is slightly off.

The Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano Toro is an enjoyable cigar, though it is a blend that I'm left to wonder exactly what its mission was. I didn't get a Dominican-dominant profile, or a profile that leaned towards any country. While I enjoyed it, the profile veered a bit too much towards dry, textured earth than I would have liked, a slice of the flavor wheel that should be enjoyed regularly but not one that I think should be as over-indulged with as it was here. Construction was very good, including smoke production levels that aren't quite Liga Privada-esque but are more than sufficient. While I enjoyed the Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano Toro, I'm not quite sure where it fits into my rotation or why I might recommend it, other than to try a new smoke that might end up resonating.

Rolling a 3-1 in the Chinese dice game of Heaven and Nine is called Harmony. This could be called that, too. Although some portion of said harmonious quality is arrived at via muted rather than expressed notes. A slight minerality folded into cinnamon & sugar. Milkiest of milk chocolates. Smokes like all set-up and no punchline... but some set-ups are fun. "A Priest, a Rabbi and an Imam walk into a bar," isn't necessarily any less of note than, "ouch, ouch, ouch." El Tigre’s balanced spice leaves plenty of room for sugar and suede to move around. Effortless draw and smoke output for days. I enjoyed the initial third's baseline of sweet and creaminess the most. Past the first third, the Drew Estate Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano Corona Viva became a bit more stale and highlighted bitterness in minerals and oak wood. Overall, it's not a flavor profile that I enjoy but I can see others enjoying this style of cigar.
