Avo Syncro Caribe
Leaf Enthusiast · Oct 7, 2021
Vitola: Robusto 5” x 50 ring gauge MSRP $10.90 Purchased from Burns Tobacconist Background Avo has turned the Syncro sub-brand into quite an interesting series. It began in 2015 with the Syncro Nicaragua, the first regular-release Avo to use Nicaraguan leaf. The next year, they upped the ante with Syncro Nicaragua Fogata, which was one […]

Halfwheel · Oct 19, 2021 · August 2021
Creamy, complex and nicely balanced, the AVO Syncro Caribe Toro is an excellent addition to the company’s Syncro series, and one of the best I have smoked so far. Not only do the main flavors change after the halfway point, but the sweetness does as well, morphing from honey sweetness in the first half to a distinct maple syrup sweetness for the second half. There is also just enough white pepper and spice throughout to enhance the flavors, while the just under medium strength integrate well with the profile. Throw in the fantastic construction—only two of my samples needed a touch-up each, and both were extremely minor—and you are left with an extremely enjoyable choice for those looking for a medium strength, full-flavored blend.

Cigar Dojo · Apr 1, 2022
It's the fourth cigar in AVO's contemporary Syncro series, and the brand shows they're just as focused as ever. While former cigars in the series have looked beyond AVO's Dominican roots, the Caribe brings it back home, centering around the breezy vibes of island living. This is captured surprisingly well in the cigar's profile, showing a cool smoking temperature, mouthwatering texture, and a great balance of aromatic spice, sweetness, and fruitiness. All these ingredients come together with something of an aha moment passing the halfway mark, as a palate-cleansing ginger seems to embody each individual component in one climactic conclusion. Not unlike Gilligan's Island circa 1960s, all eyes are on Ginger with this smoke show.

AVO Syncro Caribe Robusto
Cigar Coop · Mar 23, 2022
In 2021, Davidoff Cigars would introduce a new regular production line under its AVO brand known as the AVO Syncro Caribe. The Caribe is the fourth blend to be installed under the AVO Syncro pillar. The AVO brand draws its inspiration from the late Avo Uvezian’s musical roots. The name “Syncro” is a play on […] Key flavors: Earth, Bread, Cream, Chocolate, Wood, Pepper.

Blind Man's Puff · Nov 12, 2021 · August 2021
Earlier this year, in July, Davidoff announced an addition to the AVO Syncro series, AVO Syncro Caribe. The last cigar added to the Syncro line was the AVO Syncro South America Ritmo in 2017. Before that came the Syncro Nicaragua Fogata in 2016, and the original AVO Syncro Nicaragua in 2015. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. AVO Syncro Caribe comes in 20-count boxes in three sizes: Robusto 5 x 50 $10.90, Toro 6 x 52 $11.90, and Special Toro 6 x 60 $12.90. The name Caribe comes from the inspiration of the flavors, the Caribbean. AVE Syncro Caribe was blended with a process Davidoff calls ‘Natural Distribution.’ This means that the ratios of tobacco primings are kept the same in all the sizes, and those ratios are equal to how they are distributed on the plat they were harvested from. For example, if the tobacco plant had 40% seco, 40% viso, and 20% ligero, that is how the blend would be. The blend starts with a Dominican wrapper, then an Ecuadorian binder, and finishes with fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

This thick cigar draws and burns evenly, showing a toasty, leathery smoke with hints of dark chocolate. A big woody note also emerges, though a slightly damp undertone affected the score.

Developing Palates · Feb 22, 2022 · August 2021
The AVO Syncro Caribe Toro navigated a good array of light and subtle flavors, and brought them all together in combinations that kept me engaged and interested for the entire review. The draw and burn were both flawless. I would happily smoke the AVO Syncro Caribe Toro again, and it would go on a list of AVO cigars that are noteworthy in the past few years.
