Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro

Blind Man's Puff · Jan 18, 2023 · July 2022

Last year, General Cigar announced a second limited-edition cigar in the Inspirado line: Macanudo Inspirado Jamao. The first limited Inspirado was the Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade from 2021. The Macanudo Inspirado Jamao gets its name from a proprietary wrapper grown on a network of tobacco fields in the Northwestern Dominican Republic. It is a combination of the regions Jamastran and Mao. This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience. Macanudo ‘s team of agronomists have been experimenting with tobacco cultivation and seed acclimation in Mao, D.R. for decades. There, in the Cibao Valley, the agronomists also work with a collective of independent local growers to cultivate and cure experimental tobaccos. With Macanudo Inspirado Jamao, one of those special sungrown tobaccos is being used in this blend as a wrapper. Besides that special wrapper, the rest of the blend uses a Honduran binder and fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Macanudo Inspirado Jamao is produced at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, DR, Macanudo. Production is limited to 2,300 boxes, each containing 20 cigars, and was released exclusively in the U.S. It comes in two sizes: Toro 5.75 x 52 MSRP per cigar $10.49, and Churchill 7 x 49 MSRP per cigar $10.99.

The latest introduction by Macanudo is a limited-edition cigar named the Inspirado Jamao. The new cigar is composed of especially rare tobaccos and the company notes that “smoking Inspirado Jamao yields an elegant experience reflective of its esteemed profile.” Jhonys Diaz, General Cigar’s senior vice president of leaf operations noted in a press release: “For Read more about Cigar Review: Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro – Rated 89[…]

Boiled peanuts | Suede | Turmeric Turmeric is a type of ginger, I don't know if a lot of folks know that. As to this smoke, that, as already mentioned italicized above. Also, those boiled peanuts which take up most of the sort of flat profile. They're a forward part of an earthen-clay back-end. Suede envelops a bit dryly-so. Flitting about is dandelion tea, white peppercorn, and a buttery cedar that gets bullied a bit by the less-smooth aspects of the blend. Not terribly complex or equally nuanc

Macanudo Inspirado Jamao

CigarCzars · Aug 19, 2022

Macanudo Inspirado Jamao is a limited edition cigar made in Dominican Republic. In July 2022, a total of 2,300 boxes (containing 20 cigars each) was released exclusively to the U.S. market. These cigars are made with a proprietary wrapper (Habano-seed varietal from Honduras grown in Dominican Republic), a Honduran binder, and filler tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Macanudo Inspirado Jamao cigars are available in two sizes, a Churchill (7 x 49) priced at $10.99, and a Toro (5.75 x 52) priced at $10.49 per cigar. For more information, please see thepress release. The sample Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro cigar began with very pleasant natural tobacco sweetness along with just a hint of spice. The smoke was medium bodied and very creamy and smooth. After about 15 minutes, the cigar had less mild spice but became even smoother and more mellow, along with some notes of cedar. The cigar was very well balanced and had some degree of complexity. The Macanudo Inspirado Jamoa cigar was very well made, and the construction was no less than impeccable. The cigar had a great draw, even burn, and held a long ash. No relights were needed during the 65 minutes that it took me to smoke the cigar down to two inches remaining. At the 45-minute mark, one minor/optional touch-up was applied just to keep the burn perfectly even. I enjoyed the entire smoking session, and consider the Macanudo Inspirado Jamao cigar to be a superior-to-excellent smoke that would be appropriate for all levels of cigar smokers, from beginners to experienced connoisseurs. I rate the first 25% and last 25% of the cigar with a superior rating of 4.25 points on a 5-point scale. However, the middle 50% of the sample cigar deserved an excellent rating of 4.5 points. Therefore, my overall rating of 4.25 to 4.5 points on a 5-point scale translates into a superior-to-excellent cigar that is well worth its price of $10.49 per stick. Again, this limited edition Macanudo is one of the best new cigars on the market, and is strongly recommended for all levels of cigar smokers.

Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro

Halfwheel · Aug 20, 2022 · July 5, 2022

From nearly the first puff onward, I felt like I was smoking a cigar that tasted like something that General would have released 10 years ago. This is largely because of the level of dryness, something that hasn’t completely gone away in the modern cigar industry, but rather morphed. I find the drier cigars that get released today to have more earthy-forward flavors or sometimes nutty-forward flavors, this is different. There’s a general dryness that seems to accent most flavors that is very obvious when smoking the cigar without the assistance of a beverage. I suspect if I smoked the cigar while drinking just about anything—water, whisk(e)y, carbonated beverages—this dryness would not be as apparent, but when I smoke the Inspirado Jamao Toro on its own, it’s inescapable. That’s not really why this score is what it is, the constant touch-ups—while minor—add up and detract from the score. If you really enjoyed some of the medium to medium-full cigars within General’s portfolio from a decade ago, I suspect you will really enjoy the Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro. For me, I’d rather smoke the company’s more modern-tasting blends.

Developing Palates · Apr 26, 2024 · July 2022

The Macanudo Inspirado Jamao Toro was an overall pleasant flavor delivery which will likely satisfy many light to medium cigar smokers. I found the best combination of flavors to be through the second third with the first and last thirds being pleasant but not as dynamic.
